Resilience on AWS (Presentation)

At AWS, resilience is a shared responsibility between AWS and its customers. In this session, you'll learn about the things AWS does to ensure resilience of the cloud, including an overview of the AWS global infrastructure, how AWS designs and deploys resilient services, as well as the operational models and mechanisms (e.g., Operational Readiness Reviews and Correction of Error) used to drive continuous improvement.

10:45AM - 11:00AM

Coffee Break

11:00AM - 1:00PM

Prepare and Protect Your Applications from Disruptions with AWS Resilience Hub (Short Presentation & Workshop)

Using AWS Resilience Hub, you can define your applications’ resilience targets (RTO and RPO) and help validate that these targets can be met prior to deployment. It provides automated assessments that identify resilience weaknesses and provide recommended remediation. It also integrates with AWS FIS to test that resilience targets can be met under different conditions (e.g., database disruptions). When integrated into CI/CD pipelines, Resilience Hub provides continuous resilience assessments and testing. It provides a comprehensive view of your overall application portfolio resilience status through its dashboard. We’ll look at all of these features and more in this interactive workshop.

2:00PM - 3:00PM

Building Resilient Apps: Architecting for Continuous Improvement (Presentation)

Cloud computing is transforming architecture design and application delivery at organizations across the world. As cloud architectures evolve, new design patterns are essential. Architecting for resilience, observability, security, and emerging trends serves as the foundation that empowers builders to innovate, optimize their workloads, and scale adoption over time. In this session, learn about tools and patterns to build resilient applications and architect for continuous improvement on AWS.

3:15PM - 5:15PM

Best Practices for Disaster Recovery on AWS (Short Presentation & Workshop)

Is your organization prepared to handle and recover from potential disasters that can impact your workloads? Whether they are at risk from natural disasters, technical failures, or human actions, it is important that your workloads are resilient and able to perform their intended functions correctly and consistently. In this session, find answers to your questions on how to use the resources and tools provided by AWS to build workloads resilient to even the worst disruptive events. Learn how to utilize AWS Well-Architected best practices and acquire strategies for disaster recovery that you can use to meet disaster recovery objectives for your business. In these hands-on workshops you will learn how your recovery objectives help guide which disaster recovery strategy to implement. The workshops will demonstrate example architectures for each strategy and walk through what a failover scenario could look like.
